An accomplished and talented artist...
Whiteman delights in telling stories to children of all ages.

She combines storytelling with creative dramatics, making storytelling an interactive art.

Whiteman engages imaginations, taking listeners into the world of the story & guiding them to create that world with movement, sound & song.

Her repertoire includes many kinds of stories from real as well as imagined worlds.


The Texas-based actress has appeared in a variety of roles on Dallas-Fort Worth stages, as well as commercials and television programs such as WALKER-TEXAS RANGER and SONS OF THUNDER.

Catherine performed at the 2004 Texas Heritage Festival at Six Flags Over Texas last September. Her program included Texas folktales and tall tales, as well as signature stories from her show, Stories Grandma Told Me.  This was the fourth year she has been a featured teller at the Festival. 

In 2001, Whiteman was the featured performer at 24 libraries in southern California for 2001: A BOOK ODYSSEY.

Her education includes a Bachelor of Arts - Theater from the University of Dallas.

Served as producer, with the Irving Black Arts Council, for the production of HERSHEY, WITH ALMONDS, 1997

Featured Performer, along with Eddie Coker and the Beledi Ensemble, in the little d festival, part of the Dallas Theater Center's acclaimed Big D Festival of the Unexpected

Appearances in libraries and schools throughout Texas.

Performed her original story, "EBOH, THE LITTLE BOY WHO TALKED TOO MUCH," on one of the final episodes of MR. PEPPERMINT.
